EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (EDD) – Meet with an employment program representative 5 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Access the EDD/Unemployment hotline between 8 a.m. to noon. Receive on-site services with the California Job Openings Browse System (CalJOBS), a fast, convenient and secure way to access claim information, certify for unemployment and disability benefits, and manage claims. The Labor Market Information (LMI) workshop for career exploration is offered every third Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please call in advance to reserve your spot.
VETERANS – Orientations are offered monthly at the AJCC, Cerritos every third Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Please scroll down for flyer. An EDD veteran representative is available on Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
SALVATION ARMY HAVEN (VETERANS) – Meet with a representative on Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. HAVEN is an acronym for Helping All Veterans with Emergency Needs. Haven caters to the needs of veterans, on issues such as housing, employment, healthcare, behavioral health, substance abuse and community integration.
DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION (DOR) – Meet with a representative on Mondays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) is an employment and independent living resource for people with disabilities.
DISABILITY EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVE (DEI) GRANT – Make an appointment to meet with a Disability Resource Coordinator (DRC) Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The DEI Grant helps expand the capacity of American Job Centers (AJCs) to improve employment outcomes of individuals with disabilities.
ADULT EDUCATION: NO COST Computer Classes – Please see flyer below to learn how to register. Classes are held on-site in the computer lab at the AJCC, Cerritos, but taught by Cerritos College instructors. Cerritos College is a community-oriented institution that embraces diversity, innovation and active learning.
CAL FRESH – Meet with a representative 2 Wednesdays a month from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Check Job Center Calendar for dates and please call to verify.) The federally-funded CalFresh Program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), is the name of the current program which was commonly referred to as Food Stamps.
